Project Title: Optimizing YayBot’s Website for Higher Revenue
Background:
YayBot is a B2B video chat service based in the US, and they noticed something that needed fixing. Their subscription page wasn’t exactly user-friendly, making it tough for visitors to compare options. Plus, they were missing out on key elements like social proof and a clear call-to-action (CTA), which were holding them back from boosting their revenue.
Objective:
The goal was simple—make the subscription page more appealing and easier to navigate to increase revenue and overall user satisfaction.
Approach:
Identified Key Issues: YayBot’s subscription page had eight different virtual credit packs, but visitors found it hard to choose the best one. These credits were crucial for exchanging virtual gifts in the YayBot community, so making the right choice was important.
* Conducted Analysis: By diving into heatmaps and session recordings, the team noticed that visitors were struggling to navigate the Virtual Gifts (VGifts) categories effectively.
Ran Tests:
* Test 1: Displayed all subscription options in a table above the fold, along with features, to make comparisons easier. Added customer testimonials to build trust. This tweak led to a 6.74% increase in successful purchases.
* Test 2: To boost Average Order Value (AOV) and revenue, a pop-up was introduced to nudge visitors towards higher-value credit packs. This resulted in a revenue uplift of USD 3,900.
* Test 3: Focused on improving the visibility of Virtual Gifts by introducing a cleaner design with a left-hand drop-down menu, showcasing all categories and individual gifts. This led to an 11.32% increase in conversion rates and a 57.32% boost in Average Revenue Per User (ARPU), adding up to a revenue increase of around USD 21,000.
Results:
* A significant increase in successful purchases and overall revenue, with a total uplift of around USD 24,900.
* Improved user experience on the subscription page, making it easier for visitors to navigate and choose the best options for them.
* Boosted ARPU by making Virtual Gifts more accessible and easy to find.
Conclusion:
By making simple but effective changes, YayBot was able to turn their subscription page into a more user-friendly experience, leading to higher conversions and revenue. This case shows how a few well-placed adjustments can make a big difference in user satisfaction and business success.
